SimpleLawn ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the SimpleLawn mobile application, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using SimpleLawn you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your full name and email address. These are used to identify your account and send you service-related messages (such as email verification).
Property and lawn data. SimpleLawn lets you map and manage your lawn. To do this we collect the property address you enter, the GPS-derived boundary coordinates of your lawn zones, and any labels, notes, or measurements you assign to those zones.
Treatment and lawn care records. When you log a lawn treatment (fertilizer application, seeding, pest control, etc.) we store the treatment type, product details, date, zone, and any notes you add. This data is tied to your account so your treatment history is available across devices.
Device information. We collect basic technical information such as device type and operating system version for the purpose of diagnosing crashes and improving app stability. We do not use this information for advertising.
2. Biometric Authentication
SimpleLawn offers optional Face ID / Touch ID login for your convenience. All biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system (iOS). Your biometric data is never transmitted to SimpleLawn servers and is never seen, stored, or processed by us. We receive only a yes/no result indicating whether authentication succeeded.
You can enable or disable biometric login at any time in the app's Settings screen.
3. Location Data
SimpleLawn uses your device's GPS to help you draw and confirm your lawn boundaries. Location access is requested only during the lawn setup and mapping flows and only while the app is in the foreground. We do not track your location in the background.
The coordinates derived from this process are stored as part of your property record so your lawn map persists across sessions. We do not share your location data with third parties.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account
- To store and display your lawn maps, zones, and treatment history
- To authenticate you securely (email/password and optional biometrics)
- To diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
- To send transactional emails such as email address verification (we do not send marketing emails without your explicit opt-in)
We do not use your information to serve you advertisements. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account and lawn data are stored in a secure database powered by Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using industry-standard encryption.
Access to your data is protected by your account credentials. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable biometric authentication for an additional layer of security.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you become aware of a security issue please contact us immediately at the address below.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and lawn data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
SimpleLawn is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You may update your account information at any time within the app. You may also request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting us at the email address below. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or port your data.
9. Third-Party Services
SimpleLawn uses the following third-party service to operate:
- Supabase – database, authentication, and storage infrastructure. Supabase's privacy practices are described at supabase.com/privacy.
We do not integrate any advertising networks, analytics platforms that track personal behavior, or social media SDKs.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of SimpleLawn after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
